London Sights, Sounds and Hotels
The Wellington Museum, Apsley House, has been preserved in the likeness, right down to the paint colour, of when the Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley, lived there for 35 years from 1817 until his death. The duke’s weapons and uniforms, sizeable art collection and personal effects are displayed in honour of the once greatest soldier and statesman in England. Known as the Iron Duke, he fought against the French for years but was truly acknowledged in victory against Napoléon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
London's Wellington Museum is one of many interesting museums that you will discover as you explore the great city of London. The impressive London hotels are also plentiful and you will have no lack of interest, excitement and comfort during your visit.
